What I liked best about the rear tire was its durability, it lasted way longer than I expected, even when riding in sharp rocky sections for several days in a row. The tire offers enough grip but the AT sidewall is very stiff and running less pressure than you would normally run off-road was necessary, yet I never got a flat when I dropped the PSI. Instead of my normal pressure of 14-15 off-road, depending on the conditions, the AT 81 feels way better at 12-13, sometimes even less if you are riding slower technical sections with lots of loose or wet rocks. I have run tires that offer more grip but have half of the life of the AT81 RC. It is a compromise but if you are not racing long distances or times and want to put in some miles between tire changes the AT81 is a great value between durability and performance. The rear tire also performed very well even when the knobs were half worn and rounded off.
