James Stewart Storm Watch 2015/2016
Wow, who would have known the crap storm that’s transpired during and after “Bubba” was popped and now banned from racing for using what was said to be a doctor prescribed substance, which also happened to be a banned substance and possible PED, (Performance Enhancing Drug). His final sentencing was announced last week and even the AMA is livid at the fact they were left out of the loop and in the dark for so long. There are a slew of people that don’t understand how the FIM is even involved in American racing and how they can have such power over the sport. But if you look back, the FIM has been involved in American motocross before there was even a supercross series. The very first SuperBowl of Motocross was an FIM and AMA sanctioned event. The bottom line is there are a lot of politics involved and the FIM stalled for as long as they could. Why do you ask? Our opinion is simple, to jack up Stewart’s 2015 season. Because of the late announcement right before the 2015 season, it makes it impossible for Stewart to appeal the ruling in time to line of for A1, (if things went his way). If the AMA or the Stewart camp were given ample time, they could have filed an appeal early enough and possibly get the ruling overturned or his ban from racing reduced to time served from his April 12, 2014 failed test until now. Yes they have allegedly filed an appeal but will not get a hearing until after the season starts, which will jack up any chance at the SX title. Earlier this year JS did file the proper paperwork for the TUE, (Therapeutic Use Exemption), and it was approved, which will allow him to use the substance which his suspension is for. He still failed the test because he failed to file the proper paperwork prior to the 2014 season. Some say Adderall (amphetamine/ dextroamphetamine) could be used as a PED but is also to treat ADD or ADHD and other ailments. Was he cheating or is this drug necessary for him to function normally? We may never know.
Chat boards have talked about protests and Let Bubba Ride shirts are probably flying off the shelves. Rumors are flying around the AMA and the Stewart camp are trying anything and everything to get the matter resolved or his ban from racing reduced. Yes Stewart will be at A1 and the line to get his autograph will be around the corner, but the former champ will probably not have his gear bag in tow, that is unless Feld does some marketing bit and has Stewart come out during the opening ceremonies and bust some whips just to screw with the FIM.

Lightest Off-Road Bike in the World?
132 pounds of motorcycle with mountain bike appeal or 132 pounds of mountain bike with an engine. It’s a motorcycle, it has a motor and is a cycle. Yes this can be yours starting at $3999 for the base model or a whopping $12,990 for the FX5 Titanium with a dual sport kit. These are not Chinese built roaches but built in Italy using what looks like quality components. They even claim the frame is made by the same supplier as KTM. The motor, ahhh, 125cc pit-bike style engine with options of hop up kits up to 190cc. Maybe if it had a 125cc two-stroke, then we are talking! But you can enjoy the 4-speed auto clutch transmission. Kind of appealing and looks like fun at $3,999, yet at $12,990, we would expect a better engine and more power, and they will now be competing with KTM’s 250 Freeride at $7899. Where the Freeride is part off-road part trials bike, the FX5 is part mountain bike part off-road motorcycle. The standard model has a claimed weight of 136 pounds and the Ti is 132. Check out the video below and here is a link to their site for more info.
2015 Yamaha YZ250F Recall
Just spotted that the Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall on 2015 YZ250Fs. They say the issue is the engine could lock up during use and owners should stop using them and contact their local Yamaha Dealer. This is the quoted text, “The engine can lock up during operation, causing a rider to lose control of the vehicle and crash, resulting in injuries and death.” Here is a link to the CPSV website with details. Note the CPSV has a photo posted of a YZ250 two-stroke and not the YZ250F four-stroke. We did a little research and the issue does not affect all bikes but only with certain VIN #. Although to be safe contact your Yamaha dealer regardless of your # to be safe. Allegedly the issues are with the counterbalancer and gear. There was a batch of bad parts that went into some production bikes. A few chat boards claim they had late 2014s that had similar issues but we can’t confirm that rumor. Here is a Thumpertalk thread where customers are talking about the recall. LINK HERE Below is a copy of a Yamaha bulletin what was posted online.

Works Honda for Sale: $20,000
Just spotted what is said to be a Works Honda HRC XR600R? This could in deed be a bike that was built by Factory Honda for a four-stroke race or a project bike. However the frame looks very similar or possibly and ATK that was available as a project for XR600R engines during that time. It is an ATK frame or one very similar, or ATK might have built it for Honda. There are some components that look like trick parts from the 80s. Is this unverified bike worth $20k? Not sure. Here is the link to the Ebay Post, you be the judge, if this is legit, let us know, the bike looks a little rough they say they are selling it as parts since there is no title.
