2016 Husqvarna Off-Road Information Released

501_FE_S_USA_90_degreeWe’re expecting the big changes from Husky to come on the Motocross side but today we saw what the 2016 TE, FE and FEE bikes will bring. Minor changes mostly and a slight change in the styling. The biggest change across the line is the adaption of the smaller front axle, now 22mm down from the older 26mm version. To work alongside the axle is a new triple clamp that adds 2mm in offset, now 22mm to bring the front end back to a very similar position it has been in for the past years. Net/net there isn’t much of a change other than the parts that make the whole; riding will tell if there is an actual handling benefit to the parts swap.Front_Disc-Axle-Fork_Foot

Of course there have been some setup changes to the WP 4CS fork and to the shock that rides through a linkage on all off-road Husqvarna’s.  It is said to get the most out of the changes to the front axle/triple clamp so we suspect it is very minor. Of all the bikes riding on the 4CS fork, the Husky TE’s seemed to have the best settings.TC-250

Cosmetic changes will also include a non-wrap-around fork guard with impregnated graphics, like the rest of the plastics. There are some small technical changes to some bearings inside the FE250/350 on the shift shaft and transmission as well as the bolt that holds the shifter on. Additionally they changed the oil spray jets for better durability in extreme conditions. Husqvarna has made a point to tout that all of the bikes besides the TE125 have the DDS (Damped Diaphragm Steel) clutch. FE-450Like you we are patiently waiting to see if the Husky MX bikes will become more like KTM Factory Edition models, we suspect they will be. And as soon as we know we’ll pass the info along.

Minor changes, I’m mostly curious how the new suspension settings work…when will you get your hands on one to test?
