How it works
- Simplest and most convenient way to service your oil.
- Contains top notch Yamalube performance oils.
The Yamalube oil changing kit is the simplest and most convenient way to service your oil. The kit is put together perfectly. When servicing your oil you only need one bottle of 10w-50 oil. The kit comes with an extra bottle of oil for a second oil service. It also includes an oil filter so that you simply replace the used filter with a fresh one. Most of the time you can get away without replacing the gaskets and crush washers but over time gaskets and seals will get damaged and deteriorate after a while. The Yamalube kit is prepared for the casualties so you can easily replace the gaskets and seals if needed. At least you know you’ll have everything you’ll need if there is any confusion. And if you don’t use the parts, you have then for the next time.
In our experience the Yamalube oil is as good as any other oil we have used. We really have no way of doing a scientific breakdown of the oil’s properties or performance but it would be safe to say that Yamaha feels it is the best for your YZ or WR. With only 800cc +/- and a suggested changing schedule of about 7.5 hours it is important to keep up on the changes. We’ve never had an oil related failure or seen any unusual wear when running the oil. When it comes out after the recommended time it still has life left in it for sure. Typically we change the filter every 2-3 oil changes and inspect the one we removed to see if there is any debris we should be concerned with. This oil is also not too slippery for the clutch, which can be an issue on some bikes and a real concern on motors that need to share lubrication chores between top end parts and transmissions. And every time we have used this oil in our YZ and WR bikes the bikes shifts at the best level they have and often times you can tell you have changed the oil because the shifting action and feel improves.
This package made our Yamaha oil change a one stop process and made us more confident knowing it is what is recommended with the right parts to take any guess work out. The price is basically the same if you were to buy all the stuff separate so you get some convenience for free. You could easily spend less with different oils and filters but you also need to consider the price if something goes wrong.
