How it works
- The 2.3 Platform truly is a platform
- The first time I took them out I was able to notice how gripy the pegs were
I truly enjoyed this product and feel the bigger surface area is great for everyone. We all hate standing on those bicycle-like stock little footpegs. The 2.3 Platform truly is a platform. The first time I took them out I was able to notice how gripy the pegs were. Then I started changing the platforms out to see how the height worked with my riding style and how it changed the ergonomics of the bike. I started with the shorter pegs, I didn’t care for them much I felt like it made me small on the bike. Meaning the bars felt higher than they should be. I then tried the taller ones and it was like I grew an inch. I felt like I was able to make turns much easier because it put me up higher on the bike while the bikes center gravity stayed low. What I didn’t care for was how soft the aluminum cleats were. Wearing quicker than I liked, they started out gripy and faded off in about [TKKKK AMOUNT OF TIME/RIDES???]. But that’s what foot pegs do. You can spend hours on end sharpening your foot pegs with a file or just resurface them with a replacement cleat, depending on your wallet.
In the end the tallest cleat is what sold me, impressed with the difference in handling from such a simple modification. I feel like this would be a popular and wise choice for woman’s motocrossers who look like they are sitting on their bike when they’re really standing or tall guys who have knees folded up because the pegs are too high stock.
The price may be a bit of a shocker to some but when you look at the performance change per dollar it is a bargain, doing as much as a triple clam swap or a suspension revalve. Moving the footpegs really changes the way a bike works and feels.
