What it is

  • A universal fit front replacement fender.

The Polisport universal fit front fender is a two-piece fender available in almost any color. The front has a modern design with the black vented rear of the fender bolted onto it. There are adjustable top mounting plates that index through a rigged track design that allow for different lower triple clamp bolt patterns. It is made from Durable Gloss Polypropylene (DGP), the first plastic composition for off-road that incorporates maximum gloss and high resistance to breaking.

How it works

  • Bolts onto most bikes with its universal mounting system and different adapter plates.
  • Looks modern and updates the look of older bikes simply.
  • More durable than most stock fenders and colors are spot on.

The fender is a pretty simple bolt on operation and on the two different bikes we attached it to. It went right on after a few minutes playing around with the alignment plates to get the perfect hole pattern. Compared to the dated look of our mid-1990s machines the Polisport looked futuristic but compared to some of the more modern designs coming out of companies like KTM, it is pretty standard. Yet it definitely freshened up the look of our bikes.

In use the fender did all that was asked of it including not breaking during the usual tip-overs. The shine on the fender is pretty high-gloss and it resists scratching better than most standard fenders. The Yamaha blue did not get the white spotting when it was bent either, or at least not in the year we have been testing it. It is lighter than both of the fenders it replaced and was a little more flexible too. Yet it didn’t flap around that much for how light it was, even with a medium mud load. We never got it completely packed with sticky gooey mud, the kind that can snap off a fender if it isn't strong, but one thing about the high-gloss finish is that mud didn't stick to it as well. None of the fasteners attaching the rear vented portion came loose either. Overall as a replacement fender the Polisport gets high marks and is a very cost effective way to replace a broken fender or update the look of your machine. We've seen it through some of our partners as low as $20 when on sale.
