Fly racing's windproof technical jersey is a riding shirt that acts like a windbreaker. The arms and front side offer protection from wind and water with a technical polyester blend material. The back of the jersey is a typical jersey thin light weight polyester and is breathable. The jersey is available in four colors black, blue, red, and flo orange. Sized from adult small to 2XL.
How it works
- Keeps you warm in cool and also windy conditions.
- Doesn't get too hot.
- The armpit seems a little baggy.
- The jersey has very clean look.
The first thing I noticed about the Fly Windproof Technical Jersey was the fit being a little different than most jerseys, likely to allow it to be worn over the top of your regular setup including chest protection. The sleeves were a little long and baggy so the fit can be loose and flap in the wind. The cuff at the end of the sleeve are thin, lightweight, and comfortable on the wrist. Same for the neck of the jersey, the fit was comfortable.
Any time it is cold, I want to wear this jersey. This will often replace the times when I would wear a sweat jacket, before I knew better. For example, on an extremely cold and windy day at Glen Helen, the jersey kept me warm while even riding moto. It blocks the wind which steals the heat right out of you on cold days if not wearing this type of protection. The jersey didn't get too hot either since it has venting to allow some heat to escape from under the arms and out the back when I was working hard. The jersey had no restrictions with movements but I’d run a size smaller as the arms flapped around a little more than I liked when riding fast. I would wear this jersey in any cold condition from the tracks to the trails unless the conditions were really cold and the addition of a jacket was needed. Fly Racing did a great job building a quality product, perfect for slightly cold and damp riding conditions when you need a little insulation and wind protection without overheating, even while riding aggressive.
The durability of the jersey seems to be stronger than most. Mine hasn’t torn yet as it holds up better to being grabbed by branches or brush. It has held up to the washeing machine, but Fly suggest hand washing or using a delicate cycle, mild soap, no bleach, and air dry only. The jersey is thicker yet at the same time it is light and free feeling.
I keep mine in my gear bag at all times and wear it when the conditions require that extra protection.
