What it is

  • A heat shield to protect you and your gear from burns.

The Enduro Engineering Silencer Guard is an aluminum plate bent to shape and manufactured to fit on the exhaust side of KTM four-strokes. It creates a barrier to prevent the rider from bumping into or resting his or her boot or leg along the back portion of the muffler.

How it works

  • Simple to install.
  • Does what it should.
  • Nearly Indestructible.

The simple EE part bolts right on and comes with all necessary fasteners. There are even very detailed instructions for such a simple part. The included hardware has additional length just by enough to make mounting simple and keep everything strong. Mounting time, three minutes!
So in use the guard does exactly what it should. It builds a barrier between where your boot will rub on most KTM four-stroke exhaust systems, especially some aftermarket ones. There is plenty of clearance to keep the guard cool enough so it will not melt anything plastic. It keeps the heel or upper ankle of your right boot from burning and saves you pant legs should you lean onto the bike for any reason. We've burnt plenty of pants from lifting the KTM four-strokes onto a stand.
This part is simple and replaces a plastic part that will melt on some models or covers an area where there should be protection. $35 is good insurance for ruined gear or worse yet a burn. We have been running them for years on rental bikes and the part still looks brand new.
