What it is

  • Goggles that are durable, vent, and almost identical no matter what model you buy.

Accuri and Racecraft goggles is 100%’s top off-road goggles. The frame for both of them is made with a flexible and durable plastic. The Racecraft has out riggers at the ends of the frame and the left out rigger has a tear off post. The foam on the inside of these goggles is a triple layer foam that is claimed to help with moisture and vents to help wick the foam dry. Both have an anti-fog coated lens that include a tearoff posts, and comes in clear, mirrored red, blue, gold, and silver. The straps have a silicon strip along the inside, the Accuri has a clip-on tear-off post along the left side of its strap and comes in a variety of color combinations that would need a paragraph itself to name them all.

"100%'s goggles seem to be getting more and more popular among riders. So what's all the hype about?"

How it works

  • Racecraft have a stiffer fit due to its out riggers.
  • Straps don't move or tear.
  • Accuri's frame is very flexible.

When it comes to goggles, I like a somewhat of a tight fit. Not so tight that I feel like my face is going to be ripped off, but tight like those clothes from high school you can almost fit into. With the Racecraft, I couldn’t really get that desired fit. No matter what I did they would only get tight around just under my eyes and the top of my forehead. Around and on my nose and the sides of my eyes, they felt loose. It was pretty annoying because they were tight enough to where you wouldn’t get anything in your eye, but whenever you stopped and weren’t thinking about riding, you’d go straight back to thinking about how these goggles just don’t fit quite right. This could be due to the out riggers making the Racecraft frame more stiff and pulling the whole goggle back as oppose to wrapping the goggle around your face. The fit can differ depending on face shape, how lose you like your goggles, and eye port size on your helmet. The out riggers also give the Racecraft a bulky feeling and make it hard to fit into some helmet's eye port. The one thing the out riggers do a pretty good job of, is making sure you only grab one tear off and not the whole stack. On the other hand, the Accuri goggle fit me perfectly. Without any out riggers pulling on the goggles, I could get them to fit my face exactly how I liked without any problem. It also fitted into every helmet I’ve put it in with no problem.

The triple layer foam in both of these goggles is comfortable and vents very well. When you get wind flow, you can actually feel the foam vent! It feels especially good when you get done with a technical section and have a bit of open trail to zip down. If it wasn’t for the venting, the moisture absorbing wouldn’t really work or it would get overloaded, like any goggle. I feel the foam and absorption is on par with any I have tried.

The anti-fog lens are pretty good at preventing your goggles from fogging up. The only time either lens fogged up is when I got stuck in some technical sections and had to do a lot of unnecessary work to get the bike unstuck.

You know that one person you dated but was just too clingy? Well that’s what these straps are like. Despite the trees slapping the straps, they refuse to move due to the silicon strip along the inside and don’t come out with a hint of a tear anywhere. The only thing you need to worry about with the straps is to adjust it every once and awhile because it does tend to slowly stretch out but not so much to the point that you’ll lose the tightness of the strap. Remember I run my strap pretty tight. The Accuri has an removable tearoff post on the strap as well. It is a simple design that does a decent job of making it so you only grab one tearoff at a time. But the attachment on the Racecraft is actually better at this since it is a very consistent position.

The overall quality of the materials used to make these goggles is very good. With my past experience of 100% goggles, they will last a few years. Not to mention a really big plus to the 100% goggles is that all their accessories fit all their goggles. Lens' from different models will fit into other ones just as good and one bag of tearoffs will fit everything in their lineup, except for youth goggles for obvious reasons. I do find myself preferring the less expensive Accuri goggle because the materials used to make these goggles are almost identical but the fit is better for me. The Racecraft’s out riggers just don’t do a good enough of a job to make it worth that extra $20.
