Prior to the StarCross 6 tires, I had never ridden on a Michelin motorcycle tire, but from day one at the press launch, I was very impressed – particularly with the front tire. As someone who is on the edge of their tires probably more than I should be (out of balance as Jimmy likes to say), these tires work really well for me. The standout feature is how aggressive I can be under braking and trust the front tire won’t wash or do anything funny – it’s very confidence inspiring. Likewise, depending on the terrain, I can pick and choose between the Med/Soft and Med/Hard front tire and really dial in my bike’s handling for the terrain at hand.
Both front tires have quickly become some of my go-to front tires, something I’ve become more and more picky about over the last couple of years. The Med/Soft rear is also very good under acceleration and braking, and right there with the best of them performance wise for my standards and preferences.
There are few tires I will ride/race with, and even fewer that I will go out and buy, but these Michelin tires are on that short list worth paying for.
