The adjustability of the Evo EXT pegs can be a real benefit for taller riders such as myself. At almost 6’6″ the rider triangle is usually a bit cramped for me. Looking at the bars/pegs/seat is a pretty standard first step when I’m setting up a bike. The Fastway pegs give me a lot of options. The low position moves the pegs down and back about 10 millimeters and the cleat choices can affect the height as well. It’s amazing how a relatively small change in position can have a dramatic effect on the overall comfort I feel. I’ve used multiple low peg options and these have quickly become my favorite. What I wasn’t sure about was the extensions. As a taller rider I often get back, way back, on the bike. This puts my heels into the extensions frequently which initially, isn’t a familiar feeling. For the first couple hours, I noticed it alot and felt I would prefer the standard version without the extension. I experimented with different length cleats in both the regular platform area and the extension and found a combination that suited me. It didn’t take long for the feeling to normalize and then I began to appreciate the planted feel I was getting when I have more contact than just the back edge of the peg. Just like so many things, it will likely come down to personal preference, but I’ve come to prefer the feel of the extensions and find myself noticing them more when they’re not there.
