2016 WR450F-Matt Mattoon

When I first saw this bike I thought it was just going to be another 450 with way too much power for me–much like its FX brother. To my surprise, I found that this was the first modern 450 I was able to ride aggressive and still be comfortable! Most of the positives from the FX carried onto this WR, like the ease to initiate into corners. The biggest difference was the WR engine was very smooth down low and was still able to go fast when I want to. However the reason I didn’t like the FX is that I still felt that it had way too much power and hit for me to ride it past my easy going pace. That’s where I greatly prefer the WR. It somehow still had that power of the FX, but it didn’t have the hit that made the bike tough to ride. I was able to ride the WR as aggressive as I wanted and still be comfortable with it. My only issue when I rode it is that the suspension was a little soft for me when pushing, but that was solved by playing with the clickers. Overall, this is the first modern 450 I actually enjoyed riding and not feeling overwhelmed by the power.
