2016 Honda CRF250R–Kevin Carpenter

It’s been a while since I rode a 250F but like a lot of riders, I was really curious to get back on one. The Honda blew me away because it handled and cornered great. I was very comfortable right away since the bike is really light and nimble. The power was immediate and strong through the low end and into the mid range, a little different than what I remember the smaller four-strokes being like. Playing with the three engine mapping settings is like cheating, getting a new powerband with the push of the button is mind blowing to me. I rode it with the user created more aggressive map in position two and the standard aggressive map in position three.
I wouldn’t purchase a motorcycle based on it’s looks but still consider the cosmetics important. My opinion only:The front fender bothers me, its too short and curved. And the rear fender is too long and straight, really strange. Although I like the look of the white plastic, I feel like there may be too much (it gets dirty). Both side cases scratched easily and were old looking after a couple of rides, I think Honda needs to use raw material or a coating. The rims look generic and plain and I still can’t figure out why the dual pipes? Seems silly to me. I do actually like the stock radiator graphics.
