2015 Kawasaki KX250F–Tyler Ruiz

I was a little worried about getting back on a 250F, at a weight of 225 I have spent most of my time on big bikes lately because the extra power was needed to get me around the track. After the first few laps I was very impressed with the 2015 KX250F. The bike barks of the bottom, has good mid-range pull, and a surprising amount of over rev. Even with my heavier weight I was able to ride the bike a gear higher in some areas and when I needed the power I hit the throttle and it was right back up on the RPMs with ease.
Though I was a fan of the new black shock body and the factory colored front fork I was not expecting much from the suspension on this KX250F. With stock springs and settings normally set for lighter riders, I was preparing for some hard hits. However with a few clicks to the adjusters I was pleased with the performance of the fork and shock. Coming into turns the bike was very stable plus with the larger front rotor I was able to come in hard without feeling like the front end was going to wash. Through turns the bike didn’t want to step out and when you got on the gas at the exit–predictable with great traction.
Everything about the KX250F was comfortable. It even starts easy! With adjustable mappings for different tracks, adjustable foot pegs, bar mounts, and an oversize front brake rotor there is not much more you have to do to this bike.  Straight out of the crate this bike would be a competitive machine. Heck even the stock pipe doesn’t sound too bad. If I was looking for a new race bike I wouldn’t think twice about getting the 2015 KX250F.
