Yamaha recently unveiled an all new YZ65 minicrosser to close out their 2018 model line and to complete their wide range of motorcycles now spanning from a 50cc to their new YZ450F. With a a good portion of riders learning to ride on Yamaha’s flagship PW50, the gap to a YZ85 left youth racers looking for another brand of choice before rejoining the bLU cRU once in the 85cc classes. To combat this, Yamaha emerges with their YZ65 to allow riders to ride blue throughut their entire career. Designed with Yamaha standards, performance without sacrificing durability was a top priority with the all new engine, chassis, suspension, and bodywork. Featuring a case reed-valve intake and a YPVS power valve, the 64.8cc two-stroke engine pairs with a semi-double-cradle steel frame, aluminum subframe, and aluminum swingarm for a confidence inspiring ride. To fit the rapid growth spurts common to youth racers, an adjustable four-position aluminum handlebar and a flat seat ensure fitment for a wide range of rider sizes. Additionally, a KYB coil spring fork and KYB shock provide bump absorption and confidence inspiring handling for the young rippers. Designed to reflect the 2018 YZ450F, the YZ65 is available in Yamaha Blue for $4,599 and will be available in April 2018 to allow for competition at Lorretta Lynn’s Amateur Motocross National Championship later in the summer.
