Cody Webb Is EnduroCross Champion

2014 EnduroCross

For the past ten or so years now, the sport of Endurocross has progressively evolved into the entity it is today. For the last five years of the sport’s history, there has been one main dominating figure: KTM’s Taddy Blazusiak. At the start of his American racing career, he went from being unknown to becoming untouchable by anyone, except for European counterparts such as David Knight. Along the way, he has faced a few fierce competitors, Ricky Dietrich, Mike Brown, Colton Haaker, etc., but no one has been able to really throw off the great Taddy, that is before last year. In 2013, we saw a new fire within the competition of Endurocross that we hadn’t seen in awhile, one that could possibly dethrone the king. However, all efforts fell short as Webb was unable to take away the 2013 Endurocross championship from Mr. Endurocross, Taddy Blazusiak.

2014 EnduroCross - Cody Webb

Cody Webb came into 2014 like no other had done in the past and began to beat Taddy. Not only did he beat Taddy, in some races Webb was the untouchable one. So, with a fourteen point lead going into last the main event of the season, it became clear that Taddy would be unable to go six in a row here in the states. At this year’s Endurocross finale in Ontario, California, Cody Webb rode safe and consistent, finished second place in the main event and went on to take his first AMA Endurocross championship. Taddy’s championship streak will be one to go down in history, but will just have to see what Mr. Webb has in store for us in 2015 and beyond as he makes the switch from the Factory Beta squad over to the FMF/RPM/KTM Maxxis racing team.
