What it is

  • A Klim jersey that is race inspired.

The Klim XC jersey is designed for racers, and is made out of a combination of nylon and polyester that is said to be semi-ventilated and light-weight made with sublimated graphics for fade resistance and a drop tail with silicone print to help keep the jersey tucked in the pants. The cuff binding is designed to be non-restrictive with claimed ultimate comfort and fit. The collar has the added benefits of breathability and air intake. This jersey also has an in-set design sleeve seams and breathable foam in the elbows. The XC jersey comes in three different color patterns.

"The XC jersey focuses on high performance and functionality for racers of all kinds."

How it works

  • Vents like a swamp cooler.
  • Tough and durable.
  • Fits about a size large and has a very loose feel.

When you first see the XC jersey up close and personal, the first thing you realise is are as many holes in the jersey as there is solid fabric. Most of these vent holes are along the sleeves and back, and if you don't see these vent holes, you will definitely feel them the moment you start moving. That's when you feel air being channeled up the sleeves and down the chest, you'll swear this jersey's a swamp cooler. If this is what Klim calls semi-vented, I'm scared to see what they call just plain ol' vented. The durability of this jersey lives up to the hype as well. After hours of riding with this jersey through trees and crashing on rocks, the only holes I've found on the jersey are the ones that came with it.

When it comes to finding out what size of this jersey would fit you, think of the size you normally wear, and get one smaller than that. I'm a medium in every jersey and shirt I wear, but a medium XC jersey is a little to long and baggy in the sleeves, around the chest is really loose, and the bottom of the jersey dropped down almost to my thighs. Good thing about that though, I was able to fit a whole upper body armor suit under the jersey the jersey was still loose around the chest. You can run a chest protector and elbow guards under the jersey no problem even if you go with a size smaller than what you'd normally use. Pricing it at $59.99, it's not the most inexpensive jersey in the world, but it definitely is worth the price if you like vented gear that will last you a  race season.
